Dear people of the internets- I have read many recipes claiming to be the same/similar as the candy that used to be hidden in the chip basket in the golden days of Monterey House. I remember the little white waxed paper wrapper printed with the logo and my little kid mind was enchanted by the fact that there was always the exact amount for the people at the table. While similar to pralines, it is really very different- no pecans and a more crumbly/sandy texture. I would LOVE to find something just like it. (I don’t want a recipe but would like to hear from anyone who had the candy in the olden days and found something that is the same/very similar.) Please let me know if you have a source. Thanks!
